LADY BEARCATS DROP NEBRASKA-KEARNEY

Chelsey Janzen won both of her matches in #1 doubles and #2 singles.

MARYVILLE, MO. ... Improving to 3-2 in the spring, Southwest Baptist defeated Nebraska-Kearney, 5-3. SBU was down 2-1 after doubles but fought back to win the match.

Charlotte Heidelberg and Chelsey Janzen won the #1 doubles match over UNK, 8-3. Both of the #2 and #3 doubles matches were close as UNK took the #2, 9-7, and then won the #3 match, 9-8.

In singles, SBU bounced back to claim wins in the #2 throught #5 singles matches. Janzen defeated Lindsey Hain, 6-4, 7-6, in the #2 match and then Valerie Jones claimed a 6-0, 6-3 win at #3 singles over Jenna Eichman. Lynne Klaasen won #4 over MeKenna Irwin, 6-2, 6-4, and then Lauren Hodson won the #5 match, 6-2, 6-3, over Brook Carpenter.

SBU will be back in action on Thursday, March 17, when they host Arkansas Tech.
