SBU GAINS FIRST MIAA WIN OF THE YEAR

Chelsey Janzen teamed with Charlotte Heidelberg to win the #1 doubles match and then she won her match at the #2 singles to push SBU to a 7-2 win over Missouri Western.

ST. JOSEPH, MO. ... Gaining their first MIAA match win of the spring season, Southwest Baptist took a 7-2 win over Missouri Western in St. Joseph. SBU claimed a 3-0 lead after winning all three doubles matches.

Charlotte Heidelberg and Chelsey Janzen took the #1 doubles with an 8-3 win over Wilkinson/Parkiewicz while Valerie Jones and Lauren Hodson won the #2 doubles match, 8-1. Lynne Klaasen and Stephanie Janzekovich won the #3 doubles, 8-1.

In singles competiton, SBU claimed victories in matches #2, #4, #5, and #6. Janzen won the #2 match over Mary Parkewicz, 6-4, 6-2 and then Klaasen took the #4 match over Mindy Buschbam, 6-2, 6-0. Hodson won the #5 match 6-1, 6-1 over Audra Scoper and the Janzekovich defeated Jessica Staton, 6-3, 6-2, in the #6 match.
