LADY BEARCATS SHUT OUT ARKANSAS TECH

Lynne Klaasen won both of her matches to push SBU to a 6-0 win over Arkansas Tech.

BOLIVAR, MO. ... Improving to 6-2 overall on the season, Southwest Baptist defeated Arkansas Tech, 6-0. It is the first shut out of the 2005 season.

SBU swept through the doubles competition winning at #1, #2, and #3 doubles. They then took the #2, #4, and #5 singles competion.

In singles, Chelsey Janzen won 6-1, 6-1, over Leesa Beck and then Lynne Klaasen beat Whitney Simmons, 6-1, 6-2, for point number five. Lauren Hodson finished out the scoring for SBU as she claimed the #5 singles match, 6-1, 6-1, over Cherrill Green.

SBU will host Rockhurst University on Friday, March 18, at 2 p.m.
