KANSAS CITY, MO. ... The last home game of 2004 on a neutral site for Southwest Baptist did not stop the Lady Bearcats on their hunt for a MIAA Championship as they shutout Washburn, 3-0, in Kansas City. SBU played on the campus of Rockhurst University due to the field conditions at the SBU Soccer Field.

Ashley Munnelly made a push for why she is one of the top forwards in the MIAA as she netted two goals in the win. She put SBU up 1-0 in the 30th minute when she hit a dipping shot into the lower left corner of the goal on an assist from Hayley Moorwood. She added her second goal in the 64th minute on a hard shot over the goalie's head in the upper left hand corner.

With two goals in one game, Munnelly now ties teammate Pip Meo for the SBU single season goal record. Meo broke the record last weekend with two goals against Missouri Southern.

Victoria Bright claimed her second goal of the year in the 73rd minute to solidify the win, 3-0.

Goalkeeper Sara Eppler recorded her eighth shutout of the 2004 season and recorded one save in the win.

SBU will finish the season on the road as they take on a tough Emporia State team on Thursday, November 4, in Emporia, Kansas, and then follow that with the finale in Kirksville against Truman State.
