A year removed from leading the Bearcats to a NCAA Regional berth, Erika Souza joined SBU's coaching staff this season as a student assistant. In her two-year career on the court for SBU, Erika was named to the All-MIAA and All-Region teams, and led the team in points, assists, and steals during her senior season.

A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Souza played two seasons for Crowder College before joining SBU, twice being named to the All-Region team. In high school, Souza was a member of the South American League championship team in 2001.

While assisting on the bench, Erika is working towards a degree in Psychology at SBU.
