SBU Women's Basketball Assistant Coach and Athletics Intern, Alicia Mercer

SBU Athletic Intern, Alicia MercerMoving from the playing floor to the bench, Alicia Mercer enters her third year as an athletic intern for Jim Middleton. She finished her career at SBU in 2004 and graduated with a degree in communications in July 2004.

In her senior year, she was an all-MIAA honorable mention selection and was also named to the St. Mary's all-Classic team. She averaged 10.8 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game while recording seven double-doubles. She finished her career wiht 871 points, 555 rebounds, and scored 10 or more points in 39 of her 111 games played. In her junior season, she averaged 11.2 points per game and scored in double figures in 18 of 28 games. As a freshman, she had the experience of participating in the NCAA Division II Touranment where she had two pionts and three rebounds.

Hailing from Kirksville, Missouri, she was a four-year letterman at Kirksville H.S. She was very productive in four years as she was a four-year starter and named all-District and all-Conference four years in a row. She also played softball for KHS.

Mercer is working on her master's of education degree while coaching at SBU.
