Kelly Richardson enters her third season as head volleyball coach for the Bearcat volleyball program. Richardson has guided the volleyball Bearcats to improved play and records in her first two seasons. The 2008 Bearcats improved to 13-20 overall and 5-15 in the MIAA after an 8-24/2-11 record in 2007. In 2008, freshman Ashley Jurgensmeyer was named to the All-MIAA third team, following Shryah Perry and Chelsea Kenney earning All-MIAA honorable mention in 2007.

Richardson was a 2000 graduate of Willard High School and was named All-Conference, All-District, All-Region and All-State in her four years with Willard volleyball. Richardson continued her volleyball career as a setter at Missouri State University before transferring to Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. While at Evangel Richardson earned All-Conference, All-Region and All-American honors her junior and senior year. Richardson was named National Player of the week three times in her career at Evangel. Richardson graduated from Evangel University in 2005 with her BS in physical education and health minor.

Richardson was hired as the head volleyball coach at Republic High School in 2005. Richardson led the Lady Tigers to their first district and sectional championships in school history, and finished third at the Missouri State Class 3 Championships. Richardson sent five players in two years to play at the collegiate level.

Richardson is currently working on her graduate degree in education at Missouri State University.
