LADY BEARCATS GEAR UP FOR ANOTHER trIP TO ARKANSAS

BOLIVAR, MO. ...The SBU Volleyball Team is keeping busy as this weekend the Lady Bearcats make their second appearance within a week in Arkansas. This time around they will compete in the UCA /Arvest Bank Fall Classic hosted by the Sugar Bears of Central Arkansas.
SBU (1-4) will get a first hand look at the competition that the Gulf South Conference has by playing two GSC teams each on Friday and Saturday. Their first opponent on Friday will be the West Alabama Lady Tigers (0-4) followed by a matchup of the host UCA Sugar Bears (0-4) who are also looking for their first win this season.
On Saturday, the Lady Bearcats open up with Alabama-Huntsville (1-3) and wrap things up against Southern Arkansas (1-3). Also SBU will get their first look of the season of undefeated MIAA conference rival Washburn this weekend.
Newcomers Jenny Madrid and Chelsea Kenney have made an immediate impact so far this season for SBU. Madrid (Sr.) leads the entire team with 33 kills while Kenney (Fr.) not only is right behind Madrid in kills with 32, but is leading the entire team with 71 assists.
