Christine McElhaney is in her first year as a volunteer assistant for the SBU cross country and track team. Her focus is on arranging travel itinerary, training methodology, organization of team meetings, and practice schedules.

Christine competed in cross country and track for four years with the Lady Bearcats of SBU. She is a four time cross country Academic All-American, a one time track and field Academic All-American and was named to the MIAA commissioners academic honor roll three times. As a senior she was a Rex Brown Award recipient.

McElhaney currently hold SBU records for indoor track for the 3,000 meter, the 5,000 meter, the 4x800 meter and the distance medley relay. She also holds the SBU outdoor track records for the 3,000 meter, the 10,000 meter, the 4x800 meter and the distance medley relay.

Christine married Head Coach Corey McElhaney in July 2006 and currently lives in Bolivar.
