Jackie
Vaughan begins her junior season with the Bearcats softball
team in 2003.
Last season, Vaughan had a .227 batting average and recorded
25 hits in 110 at bats. She led the team with 18 RBI. She
had nine runs, four doubles and led SBU with three homeruns.
She had a .320 on-base percentage and a .345 slugging percentage.
She was second on the team with 117 putouts and she had a
.966 fielding percentage.
Vaughan hit .150 in 50 games started during the 2001 season.
She tied for the team lead in fielding percentage with .979.
Vaughan played in the Amateur Softball Association from the
age of 12. Her 1998 team won the Missouri state championship
(16-under).
In high school, she was all-conference and all-district all
four years. Her team was Central Ozark Conference (COC)
tri-champs in 1999. Vaughan was named to the all-COC, district
and state team her senior season, as well as team MVP four
times. As a senior, she led the NHS Eagles in RBI and
had the highest batting average on the team.
Vaughan is a National Honor Society member and a 2000 graduate
of Nixa High School. She is the daughter of Dennis and Cheryl
Vaughan and was born on Oct. 8, 1981.
