Lacey
McGuire begins her third season as a Bearcat after starting
the last two seasons at shortstop.
In 2002, McGuire started all 39 games and recorded 74 putouts
and 103 assists. She had a .219 batting average with 23 hits
and eight RBI last season.
McGuire started all 52 games for the Bearcats in 2001. She
had a .264 batting average and a .892 fielding percentage.
She was third on the team in putouts with 105.
As a senior in high school, McGuire had a .529 batting average,
nine doubles, five home-runs, 28 runs, 40 RBI and a .918 fielding
percentage. In high school, she was named first team
all-Central Ozarks Conference, first team all-district and
was an all-state shortstop. As a senior, she led her
team to a District 10 championship and received several team
awards during her career. McGuire also played four years of
basketball at Buffalo.
McGuire is a 2000 graduate of Buffalo High School and the
daughter of Mickey and Linda McGuire. She was born on Nov.
14, 1981.
