Britni
LaPlate joins the 2003 squad after playing four years of softball
in high school. She played summer softball for several years
and was the team captain her senior year. LaPlante was named
all-district her senior season.
She played for the Louisiana Patriots and was a member of
the 2000 ASA U-16 State Champions, the 2000 ASA Southwest
Regional Champions and the 2000 team that finished 13th in
the nation in ASA. In 1999, her U-16 team was the state runner-up,
won the Southwest Regional Championship and participated in
the ASA National Championships.
The freshman also played basketball her junior and senior
seasons in high school. She was involved in FCA and Big Brother/Big
Sister.
LaPlante is a 2002 graduate of Mandeville High School. She
is the daughter of Linda and Larry LaPlante and was born on
December 23, 1983.
