Cassi
Haines begins her third season on the Bearcat softball team
in 2003.
Haines played in 20 games last season, starting in 16. She
had 47 at bats and recorded eight hits, 12 putouts and five
assists in
2002. She led the 2002 pitching squad with a 2.63 ERA. She
saw action in 13.2 total innings.
Haines appeared in 35 games in 2001, starting 14. She had
a .218 batting average and a fielding percentage of .921.
Haines was a four-year softball letterman in high school and
was named all-city four times. She is a 2000 graduate of Wichita
Heights High School in Wichita, Kan. She also played basketball
two years in high school, ran three years of cross country
and was a cheerleader for two seasons.
Haines is the daughter of Ron and Mary Haines and was born
on Aug. 12, 1982.
