Christy Capner transferred to SBU last season from Three Rivers
Community College in Poplar Bluff.
The fact that we have already overcome a lot of things
this fall has brought us together as a team and will help
us become more
competitive this season, Capner said. The personalities
on this years team fit together well which will make
us a more tight-knit group.
Capner had a .210 batting average for the Bearcats last season.
She played in 33 games for SBU and had 17 hits in 81 at bats.
She also scored four runs, had three doubles and nine RBI.
She walked 11 times and had a.309 on-base percentage last
season.
As a pitcher, she was 1-3 and had seven appearances. She pitched
in 30.0 innings and had an ERA of 9.60. She struck out 14
opponents.
Capner is the daughter of Carl and Tammy Capner and is a 1999
graduate of Miles MacDonnell Collegiate in Winnipeg, Manitoba,
Canada.
