DeAnna
Bumgarner begins her junior season in 2003 after starting
all 39 games for the Bearcats last season. She had five hits
in 33 at bats. She also had a .911 fielding percentage and
recorded 38 putouts.
In 2001, Bumgarner played in 39 games, starting in 35. She
had a .169 batting average and a .939 fielding percentage.
In high school, Bumgarner lettered four years and was named
first team all-conference three times, second team all-conference
once, first team all-district four times, and all-state once.
She was team captain and team MVP for two seasons. A winner
of the Marion C. Early pitching award every year in high school,
Bumgarner won her teams best defensive player award and led
the team during her senior season in extra base hits, runs
batted in and home runs. She was a four year member of both
the basketball and track teams.
Bumgarner was a 2000 graduate of Marion C. Early High School
in Morrisville. She is the daughter of Roger and Becky Bumgarner
of Brighton and was born on Sept. 18, 1981.
