NEAL, CLEMENCE RECEIVE SBU ATHLETICS'
HIGHEST HONOR

For Immediate Release 28 May 2003

Southwest Baptist University has announced the Rex Brown Award for Excellence winners for the 2002-03 season. Jon Clemence and Rachael Neal have been awarded SBU athletics’ highest honor.

“Within in our own athletics department, this is the top award,” said SBU Athletics Director Jim Middleton. “We feel like we have two excellent choices. Jon and Rachael have done so much for their respected sports, this honor is the least we can do to thank them. We wish Jon well in his future endeavors and thank him for what he has helped to establish cross country and track. As for Rachael, we get to keep her as a graduate assistant for soccer. She is a big part of the success that soccer has had.”

The Rex Brown Award for Excellence is given to the recipient for his/her strong Christian character, academic achievement, leadership qualities and impact on his/her sport.
