WARRENSBURG
The mens and womens track and field
team from Southwest Baptist will compete in the Central Missouri
State Relays this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21-22 in Warrensburg.
The Bearcats and Lady Bearcats are coming off a successful
weekend that saw several participants do well on Friday, Feb.
14 at the CMSU Mule Relays.
Ivan Peterson broke the school record in the triple jump with
a leap of 444.25. He finished in fifth place overall.
David Sepanski and Peterson competed in the 60-meter dash.
Sepanski broke the school record with a time of 7.15 and Peterson
finished in 7.20.
Sepanski also competed in the 200-meter dash and finished
sixth overall with a time of 23.0.
Clint Davis finished fourth in the 3,000-meter run with a
time of 8:58.41. Austin Bunn finished second in his heat,
but did not place overall, with a time of 4:35.62 in the mile.
Joe Wieschhaus ran in the 600-yard run and finished with a
time of 1:32.37. Brandon Sherrer ran a 2:02.42 in the 800-meter
race.
The women were led by Christine Showler who finished with
an indoor personal record of 5:41.63 in the mile. Also running
for the women was Sara Tedford. She finished with a 400-meter
time of 1:07.52 and a 200-meter time of 29.77. It was her
first 400-meter race.
All but three individuals on the mens and womens
teams will take part in the CMSU Relays this weekend.
