MEN trAVEL TO SPRINGFIELD

Southwest Baptist’s men’s basketball team will travel to Springfield on Thursday, Dec. 5 to take on Central Bible College at 7 p.m.

The men are 2-3 after getting their second win of the season on Tuesday by defeating Drury, 81-49.

SBU was led by Arthur Trousdell and Marcus Jackson with 17 points each. The only other Bearcat in double figures was D.J. Hogue with 14 points. Seven other Bearcats got on the scoreboard on Tuesday.

Leading the team in rebounds was Ryan Stock with eight. Kendrick Jacksonhad seven.

The Bearcats led at the half, 41-24 and outscored the Panthers 40-25 in the second period.

SBU shot .483 from the field (29-60), .600 from the three-point arc (6-10) and .810 from the charity stripe (12-21).

Leading the Bearcats this season is Trousdell. He is averaging 15.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per outing. Ryan Stock is second in points with 12.6 per game and is leads the team in rebounding with 6.8 boards per game. Kendrick Jackson is second on the team in rebounding with 6.4 per game.

Also averaging in double figures for SBU in 2002-03 is Marcus Jackson (12.2), David Coutchie (11.0) and D.J. Hogue (10.6).

SBU has shot .445 from the field, .400 from the three-point arc and .743 from the charity stripe this season.

Central Bible College enters the week 9-4 and on a four-game winning streak.

SBU leads the series, 2-0.
