Southwest
Baptists mens basketball team will close out its
three-game road trip in Indianapolis, Ind. on Tuesday, Nov.
26. Tipoff between the Bearcats and the University of Indianapolis
is 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
SBU lost its first two games of the season last weekend. On
Friday, Nov. 22, SBU dropped a 76-59 decision to West Texas
A&M at the Panhandle State Classic in Goodwell, Okla.
On Saturday, Nov. 23, the Bearcats lost 85-78 to the host
school Panhandle State.
Leading the Bearcats so far this season is freshman Arthur
Trousdell with 11.5 points per game. He is second on the team
with 6.0 rebounds per game. Senior Ryan Stock is second on
the team with 11.0 points per outing and he leads the team
with 6.5 rebounds per game. Also averaging 11 points per game
are juniors Kendrick Jackson and Marcus Jackson. Junior David
Coutchie has a 10.5 points per game average.
SBU shot .444 from the field, .409 from the three-point arc
and .681 from the charity stripe over the weekend.
Indianapolis enters the game with an 0-1 record. They lost
to Grand Valley State on Friday, Nov. 22, 80-69. David Logan
led the Greyhounds with 35 points and six steals. he was 13
of 25 from the field, including 3 of 10 from the arc. He was
perfect from the line, going 6-6.
The
Greyhounds were led by Jason Wright with eight rebounds. No
other UI player scored in double figures.
The
team was .482 from the field, .188 from the arc and .632 from
the charity stripe. The Greyhounds were down 46-27 at the
half.
The
series is tied at 1-1. The two teams met in 1988 with UI winning,
83-70. SBU won the last contest between the two teams, 93-73,
in 1989.
