BOLIVAR, MO. ... Staying undefeated in the MIAA, Southwest Baptist University took a 7-2 win over Truman State. SBU is now 8-8 overall.
SBU cruised through the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. Dante Cipulli and Johan Nortje won the #1 match with an 8-4 win over Tyler Wood and Ryan Cope. Hunter Emmott and Daniel Prerad had an 8-3 win over Brad Martin and Sean Cooper and then Peter Joos and Brian Bajema took an 8-4 decision over Steve Jones and Cody Pusateri.
Truman State only claimed two wins in the singles matches as SBU won the #1, #2, # 4, and #5 matches. Cipulli won the #1 match with a shutout over Tyler Wood, 6-0, 6-0. Prerad took the #2 match, 6-3, 6-4 over Brad Martin. Emmott won the #4 match with a 7-5, 6-1 decision over Sean Cooper and Johan Nortje rounded out the scoring with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Brett Taylor.
SBU will host Drury University on April 7 at 3 p.m.
