INDIANAPOLIS, IN. ... Continuing the winning tradition for Southwest Baptist University men’s tennis, the Bearcats have made their third straight NCAA Tournament. With their #1 ranking in the North Central Region, they will host the first and second rounds.
On Friday and Saturday, May 6-7, SBU will be hosting Truman State, Winona State, and the Colorado School of Mines. SBU is the #1 seed and will play #8 seed Winona State. The #4 seed Truman State will then play #5 seed Colorado School of Mines.
The first match will be played on Friday, May 6, at 10 a.m. between Truman State and Colorado School of Mines. SBU will follow that match at 12:30 p.m.
This is the third straight year that SBU has hosted the North Central Regional and has won the past two Regional Tournaments. The last two years, SBU has finished in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament and last year lost to eventual national champion West Florida. The winner of the North Central Regional will receive a trip to the Sweet 16 in Orlando, Florida.
There are 59 teams in the tournament and St. Cloud State (MN) will host the other half of the North Central Regional.
