BEARCATS SLAM MISSOURI VALLEY

Peter Joos won both of his matches at #3 singles and #2 doubles.

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, MO. ... The #14 Southwest Baptist University Bearcats (2-1) went back to their winning ways as they took an 8-1 decision over Missouri Valley.

SBU took all three doubles matches to start off with a 3-0 lead. Dante Cipulli/Daniel Prerad teamed up to defeat Martin Bostrom/Alejardro Ahuja, 8-4 and then Peter Joos/Johan Nortje took the #2 singles, 8-4, over Juan Balda/Ignacio DiCarlo. Hunter Emmott/Brian Bajema then came away with another 8-4 decision over Eugenio Huerto/Carlos Guillen.

Winning the #1 through #5 singles matches, SBU dominated the match. Cipulli won his second spring match with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Blada and Prerad claimed the #2 singles match with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Bostrom. Joos won the #3 match over DiCarlo, 6-3, 6-1, and Emmott took a 6-1, 6-0 win over Ahuja. Bajema then won the #5 match, 7-5, 6-1, over Huerta. Brian Harrelson fell to Guillen in the #6 singles match, 7-6, 5-7, 7-6.

SBU will be back in action on March 4-5 as they travel to Lawton, Oklahoma, for the Cameron Invitational.
