BOLIVAR, MO. ... Getting back to their winning ways, the Southwest Baptist University men’s tennis team came away with a 6-3 win over Graceland University. SBU is now 6-5 on the year.
SBU started the match off with a 2-1 lead as they took the #1 and #3 doubles. In the #1 doubles, Dante Cipulli and Johan Nortje shut out Guillermo Ripoll and Ricardo Lau, 8-0, and then Peter Joos and Brian Bajema took the #3 doubles, 8-3, over Jose Alaniz and Alvaro Dominguez.
Taking four wins in singles, SBU finished out the match with the 6-3 advantage. SBU won the #1 singles match as Cipulli made easy work of Zaudin, 6-1, 6-0. SBU then took the #3, #4, and #5 singles matches to claim the win.
SBU will travel to Maryville to take on Northwest Missouri State on March 21.
