CIPULLI SWEEPS ITA SMALL COLLEGE CHAMPIONSHIP
RECEIVES BID TO PLAY AT NCAA divISION I ITA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

FT. MYERS, FL. ... Going where no SBU men’s tennis player has gone before, senior Dante Cipulli claimed the ITA Small College Singles Super Bowl Championship in Florida on Sunday afternoon. Cipulli now earns an automatic bid to face the top NCAA Division I singles players. Cipulli once again took care of business in the Super Bowl Championship with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Steven Lockwood of Fresno City Junior College. Cipulli has now won both the NCAA Division II singles championship and the ITA Super Bowl Singles Championship.
With the win, Cipulli receives an automatic bid to the ITA NCAA Division I Singles Championships to be held November 4-7 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, at the University of Michigan. He will be put into a pool of the 31 best NCAA Division I singles players.
