ST. LOUIS , MO. ...#6 Southwest Baptist University opened up the 2004 spring season with a dominating win over nationally ranked NCAA Division III Washington University-St. Louis, 7-2. Washington is ranked #7 in the NCAA Division III.
Dante Cipulli, Andras Bori, Mark Eori, Johan Nortje, and Peter Joos all won their individual matches. In doubles action, Bori/Eori and Cipulli/Nortje picked up wins.
In singles, Cipulli came away with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Alvo in the #1 slot. At #2, Bori beat Rosenthal, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. In the #3 and #4 competition, Eori defeated McMahon, 6-3, 6-0, and Nortje beat Fayne, 6-4, 6-2. Joos then picked up the fifth win in a 6-4, 10-4 third set win over Kuppler.
SBU will travel to Arkadelphia, Arkansas on Friday, February 13th, to take on Tyler College at Ouchita Baptist.
