MEN'S TENNIS MAKING WAVES AT ARKANSAS
EORI TO PLAY BORI IN SINGLES SEMI-FINALS --- ALL SBU DOUBLES FINAL

ARK. ... The Southwest Baptist University men’s tennis
team is showing their power as they knockoff some of the NCAA
Division I schools in singles and doubles competition. SBU
is the only NCAA Division II school amongst five Division
I schools.
Andras
Bori, Mark Eori, and Dante Cipulli are all in the semi-finals
of the singles competiton. Eori defeated #1 seed Perkins from
Drake, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 in a three hour 15 minute match. Bori
then beat Drakes #2 Montenegro, 6-4, 7-6. Cipulli then easily
defeated Sjolund (Tulsa), 6-2, 6-1. Now, Bori will play Eori
in the semi-finals which ensures SBU of one player in the
championship.
In the
doubles competition, SBU has put both teams in the finals.
Both Dante Cipulli/Johan Nortje and Andras Bori/Mark Eori
will play each other for the championship. Cipulli/Nortje
defeated #1 seed Perkins/Montenegro (Drake), 8-6, while Bori/Eori
beat Tulsa’s #1 team of Murry/Shimizu, 8-3.
In singles
consolation, Peter Joos knocked off Southwest Missouri State’s
Curcic, 6-4, 6-1, to head the consolation championship.
All the
matches will finish up on Sunday.
