CORPUS CHRISTI, TX. ... Dante Cipulli will look to bring home
a national championship for the Southwest Baptist University
men’s tennis team on Saturday morning. He won his semi-final
match to move onto the finals.
It was
a tough match from the beginning, but Cipulli pulled it out
in the end over G. deVerbizier (West Florida), 6-7, 6-1, 6-3.
He will now play Rob Steckley of Lander University at 8:30
a.m. Saturday morning.
In his
first match of the ITA National Tournament, Cipulli took Bryan
Swatt (University of California-San Diego) in two quick matches,
6-1, 6-3.
Bori/Eori
dropped their semi-final match to Chopra/Wilson (UCalifornia-San
Diego), 6-4, 7-6, on Thursday afternoon. In the first round,
they defeated Diego Sist/Ben Ureta of the University of South
Carolina-Spartansburg, 7-5, 3-6, 10-5. Bori/Eori will play
Thomas Hipp/Gerold Wiring of Barry University (FL) at 2 p.m.
on Friday in the consolation bracket for third place.
