Loses at Missouri Southern

- The Bearcats (9-9, 5-5) dropped a 92-80 loss at Missouri
Southern last Saturday.
SBU was
led by D.J. Hogue who scored a career-high 32 points in the
defeat. Ryan Stock finished one point shy of a career-high
with 22. Also scoring in double figures was Ashley McCormick
with 12 points.
Leading
the way for the Bearcats in rebounding was Stock with nine.
Missouri
Southern was led by Jamahr Warren with 24 points and seven
rebounds. Nineteen of his points came in the first half, which
helped MSSC on top of the Bearcats 45-35 at the break.
Missouri
Southern was up only 10-9 with 15:46 remaining in the first
half before going on a 12-1 run to go up 22-11 with 12:19
remaining in the period. The Bearcats got it back to five
(30-25) with 8:47 left in the half, but MSSC outscored SBU
15-10 in the last minutes of the half.
SBU opened
the secnd half with a 17-8 run to get back within one (53-52)
with 14:43 left on the clock. The Bearcats hung close for
the next few minut, butMisouri Southern went on a 10-2 run
to put the game out of reach. The Lions hit 10 free throws
and a three-pointer in the last 2:56 to seal the victory.
The three-pointer
came with only 11 seconds left in the game with plenty of time left on the shot clock. SBU's Hogue
answered with a three-pointer of his own with four seconds remaining from 30-plus feet out.
SBU returns
to action on Thursday, Feb. 6 when it hosts Washburn for a
7:45 p.m. tipoff.
