Bearcats Lose Season Opener

GOODWELL, Okla . - The Bearcats lost their 2002-03 season opener on Friday, Nov. 22 to West Texas A&M in Goodwell, Okla., 76-59. The team is playing in the Panhandle State Classic.

Despite being tied at the half at 29 with the Buffaloes, SBU was outscored 47-30 in the second period of Friday's game.

SBU shot 41.8 percent from the field in Friday's game (23-55), but were 2-9 from beyond the arc (22.2 percent). The Bearcats were 11-21 from the charity stripe (52.4 percent). SBU was outrebounded 33-28 Friday.

In their purple and white debuts, Arthur Trousdell and Marcus Jackson led the team with 15 ponts each. Ryan Stock was second on the team with 10 points. Trousdell and Kendrick Jackson led the team with five rebounds.
