Win For First Time in MIAA

BOLIVAR
- SBU (5-5, 1-1) won its first Mid-America Intercollegiate
Athletics Association game of the season after defeating Missouri
Southern (7-3, 1-1) on Saturday, 80-65. It is the second MIAA
game of the season for both teams.
It was
the first time this season that the Bearcats resembled a team
throughout the game, working the clock the last five minutes
to come away with the victory.
Leading
the Bearcats on Saturday was junior David Coutchie with 21
points. He hit 11 of 12 free throws, including seven of eight
in the last 1:33 of the game. Freshman Arthur Trousdell also
scored in double figures. He had 19 points.
SBU shot
.471 from the field (24-52), .462 from beyond the three-point
arc (6-13) and .765 from the charity stripe (26-34).
Missouri
Southern was led by Jamahr Warren with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
SBU will
retun to action on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at Washburn at 7:30 p.m.
