In Butler’s
first season at SBU, he appeared in 21 games starting 3. He
averaged 1.9 points and 1.1 rebounds and shot 36% from the
three point arc. Transferred to SBU from Hillsborough Community
College. Averaged 10.5 points, 4.6 assists and 2.0 steals
per game in 2001. Led his team in taking charges with 27.
He was honorable mention all-conference, defensive player
of the year at HCC and received the Minister of Defense award.During
his high school career he was team captain as well as Best
Defensive and Most Inspirational Player. He received honorable
mention all-conference and led his team to the conference
championships. Graduated from C. Leon King High School In
Tampa, Fla. in 1999. Son of Brenda Butler. Born 13 November
1979.
