BOLIVAR, MO. ... Down by 18 with only twelve minutes remaining in the game, Southwest Baptist (11-11 / 5-8 MIAA) sparked an amazing 23-5 run over a span of six minutes to cut the lead all the way down to five points.
Washburn (19-5 / 10-3 MIAA) answered by finding their preseason all-american Travis Robbins three consecutive possessions en route to a game changing 12-1 run to swing the momentum back to the Ichabods and deny SBU the upset victory, 90-80.
Coming from the under-15 minute media timeout and the score tied at 10 in the first half, Robbins scored six straight points that turned into a 21-6 run that consumed over eight minutes and put WU up 31-16 and ended the half on top 43-31.
Robbins led all scorers with 17 points in the first half off of 7-9 shooting mainly from underneath the basket. SBU's Deon Davis led the Bearcats at the half with 12 points in only 12 minutes and finished the night also with 18 points.
A three pointer from Davis, started the late rally for the Bearcats in the second half. Ousley scored all of his points from three-point range and now is climbing up the SBU all-time three-point record books. In his career, Ousley now has 94 treys, which places him seventh all-time in school history and 256 attempts from beyond the arc, which places him fifth all-time.
