Remembering the Good Ol' Days
Heading into the game on Saturday vs. Pittsburg State, SBU head coach Jeff Guiot will have a lot of memories running through his head. Guiot graduated from PSU with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree while becoming an all-American. He set numerous records as a Gorilla and still holds most of those records.
Guiot has only faced his alma mater once and that was last year when he was coaching Bemidji State. He led the Beavers to a thrilling 103-100 win in triple overtime. SBU has only defeated PSU three times in the last 15 meetings.

Head Coach Jeff Guiot is no stranger to Pittsburg State. Guiot was an all-American for the Gorillas after tranferring to PSU from Kansas. He also was a NAIA honorable mention all-American in the 1985-86 season by averaging 21.5 ppg, 4.5 apg, and shot .512 from the floor. Those accomplishments also put him on the first-team all-Central States Intercollegiate Conference team and a NAIA all-District 10 honoree.
He still holds PSU records in season steals (83) and season highest steal average (2.86). He is in the top 10 career list in 10 different categories.
