Jarrett Brown put up 26 points for a career high vs. CMSU.

WARRENSBURG, MO. ... Taking advantage to their first MIAA home game of the 2003-04 season, Central Missouri State University (10-2/2-1) dominated the game over Southwest Baptist University (3-9/0-3) for a 22-point win, 88-66. Jarrett Brown led the Bearcats with a career-high 26 points as he was the only SBU player in double figures.

The Bearcats kept tempo with the Mules in the first five minutes of the game as it was tied at seven with 15:18 to go in the half. It was at this point that the Mules started to slowly drift away with the lead. Over the next five minutes, CMSU took a 15-5 run and 10-point advantage, 22-12, at the 9:55 mark. SBU quickly cut the lead to six, 24-18, on two jumpers by Brown and a shot by Marcus Jackson. With 6:57 to go before halftime, Jackson cut the lead to five when he made a layup as he was fouled. He then hit the free throw to make the score, 26-21. CMSU responded with a 9-0 run for the 14-point lead, 35-21. CMSU never looked back from that point on as they took a 17-point lead into the locker room, 47-30.

In the first six minutes of the second half, CMSU shut down SBU's offense as the Bearcats did not hit a shot from the floor until the 13:59 mark when Brown canned a three-pointer. Before his shot, the Mules had taken a 27-point lead. CMSU ran their lead to 34 points, 78-44, before SBU cut into the lead to end the game at 88-66.

SBU was out rebounded, 47-28, and only shot 39% from the floor and 36% from three-point range.

The Bearcats will look for their first MIAA win in Pittsburg, Kansas, on Saturday, January 10th, as they take on Pittsburg State University at 7:30 p.m.
