LEAWOOD, KS. ... Because of rain on the second day of play, the NCAA Division II Central Regional Invitation was called only after one day of play. Southwest Baptist finished in ninth place and was jsut 13 strokes off being in the top five.
Overall, SBU shot a 317 for the ninth place finish. They were just three strokes off of Missouri Western (314), five from Truman State (313), and six from Bemidji State (311). Missouri Southern (297) won the tournament with a two-stroke lead over Washburn (299).
Nick Layman was the only Bearcat to finish in the top 20 as he tied for seventh (73). That score left him two strokes behind the leaders at 71.
Tying for 36th was Adam Lotz (80) followed by Jared Lotz (t39th - 81), Clay Brandenburg (t49th - 83), and Mike Martinez (t60th - 88).
SBU will finish the regular season April 18-19 at the MIAA Tournament in Blue Springs, Missouri.
