May 25, 2004
BOLIVAR, MO. ... Heading into the 2004-05 athletic year, the Southwest Baptist University Bearcats are looking to improve their play in men’s golf. The Bearcats have signed three golfers from Missouri in twins Adam and Jared Lotz and Clay Brandenburgh.
“I feel like we not only have some really good kids but great players that will be added to our team. We have definately upgraded our talent pool and will be a lot more competive next year," says head golf coach Kevin Cribbs.
A unique change will happen to the Bearcats next year as they have added twins Adam and Jared Lotz. They are coming to SBU from North County H.S. in Bonne Terre, Missouri, where they helped their team to a fourth place finish in districts and then qualified for the state tournament. In the 3A State Golf Tournament, Adam was named all-state for a ninth place finish and a two day total of 153. Jared came in 22nd place with a score of 157.
The third golfer to sign with SBU is all-state golfer Clay Brandenburgh. Helping Ozark H.S. to a second place finish in districts, he tied for sixth at the 3A State Golf Tournament with a score of 152. Clay is from Ozark, Missouri.
“I think getting these three players will really help the team for next year," says Cribbs.
