Call Coach Wilkerson: 417-328-1931

Zach Wilkerson

Zach Wilkerson has been promoted to Defensive Backs coach after spending the past two seasons as the defensive graduate assistant.  Wilkerson came to SBU from Kansas Wesleyan where he coached linebackers for one semester.

Originally from Ft. Worth, Wilkerson played high school football at Fossil Ridge High School. An outside linebacker at the large Texas school, Wilkerson helped his team to the Texas Class 5A state semifinals. He also earned second team all-state honors on defense and was named Newcomer of the Year.

While at Kansas Wesleyan, Wilkerson was a two-year starter at middle linebacker for the NAIA school. During his junior season, he recorded 65 tackles along with three interceptions and two touchdowns. Also that year, he received Don Hansen's NAIA National Player of the Week after recording 11 tackles, two picks and one TD in a game. He also graduated with 3.1 GPA with a bachelor's degree in history.

Wilkerson's coaching experience also includes the Texas High School All-Star Game (Greenbelt Bowl) in 2006 where he coached linebackers.

Wilkerson and his wife Brittny were married in 2006 and live in Bolivar.
