At SBU: 2003 ... All-MIAA honorable mention ... Led the Bearcats in batting (.313), hits (51), doubles (17), RBIs (33), and slugging percentage (.509) ... Also had five homeruns.

At Johnson County Community College: Lettered two years in baseball.

At Nixa H.S.: Was a two-sport star in baseball and football ... Was a member of the president's honor roll ... Also played on an American Legion team along with a semi-pro baseball team.

Personal: Double majoring in psychology and political science ... Is the son of Brett and Toni Shields ... Born on December 25, 1981.
