Brett Coluccio Former Team USA member Brett Coluccio joins the staff at Southwest Baptist University as he enters his first year under Sam Berg. Coluccio, a native of Springfield, Missouri, was a part of Team USA in 1998-99 and also played for the Junior Pan American team (1993-95) for two years and the Pan American team (1995-97). Originally signing a letter of intent to play baseball for Oklahoma State, Coluccio had a career ending injury after he graduated from high school in 1999. He then attended Hendrix College for one year to try and work through the injury but decided to hang up the cleats. He then attended SBU for one year and then finished his final two years at Hillsdale College (MI). Getting into the coaching ranks, he was the hitting instructor for the Kickapoo Legion team in 2000 and then the J.V. coach for them in 2001. Graduating in 1999 from Springfield Kickapoo, Coluccio had a stellar prep career for the Chiefs. He was a four-year letterman and received all-State, all-District, all-Conference, and all-Ozarks awards. Coluccio received his degree in American History in 2003 from Hillsdale College.
