The Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that we are accepting nominations to the SBU Hall of Fame.

The purpose of the Hall of Fame at Southwest Baptist University is to recognize individuals and teams for outstanding contributions, either during their collegiate careers on and off the field, or through commendable service to intercollegiate athletics.

Nominees will be received in three major categories; (1) Student-Athlete, (2) Coach or Administrator and (3) Friend of Athletics.

A Student-Athlete's last year of competition must have occurred at least five (5) year prior to being nominated.

A Coach or Administrator must have retired or left their position at SBU for at least five (5) years prior to being nominated.

A Student-Athlete, Coach or Administrator, or Friend of Athletics may be selected posthumously, which supersedes the above 'length of time' guidelines.

To be eligible for induction as a Student-Athlete , a nominee must meet one or more of the listed criteria:

•  National Champion
•  National Statistical Champion
•  National Record-Holder
•  Academic-All American Recognition
•  All-American Recognition
•  National, Region, or Conference Player of the Year
•  All-Region Recognition
•  First-Team All Conference
•  SBU Record-Holder AND Second-Team All Conference

To be eligible for induction as a Coach or Administrator , a nominee will be considered for selection according to the listed criteria:

•  MUST have shown exemplary leadership and character while serving to enhance the overall experience of SBU's student-athletes.
•  Other factors that may influence the selection of Coach / Administrators are:
•  Won / Loss Record
•  Length of Career
•  Concern for Welfare of Student-Athletes
•  Outstanding Achievements During or After SBU Career

To be eligible for induction as a Friend of Athletics , nominees will be made only in recognition of truly exceptional contributions, support, and service to SBU's student athletes, SBU Athletics, and Southwest Baptist University.

In addition to the above category-specific criteria, the nominee must have performed with extraordinary levels of excellence and brought honor and distinction to his / her team, the athletics programs, and Southwest Baptist University.

The deadline to submit a nomination will be June 1, 2008. Any nominations received after this date will be considered for the following class.
