SBU Defeats Park University 97-85

The SBU Bearcats defeated the Park University Pirates (97-85) Friday afternoon at the 'Rock U Classic' at Rockhurst University in Kansas City.

Five Bearcats were in double figures, led by Jason Jemison with 23. Jim Grabowski and Jared Young scored 17 each.

SBU out-rebounded Park by a single board, 43 to 42. Matt Rogers and Young grabbed 9 each.

The Bearcats built a comfortable 17-point lead in the first half, but watched the Pirates storm back to take a 1-point lead 2 1/2 minutes into the 2nd half. But Jemison answered by hitting a 3-pointer to give the Bearcats the lead for good.

SBU improved their record to 2-1. Park slipped to 6-3.

SBU plays host Rockhurst on Saturday afternoon, November 25, at 4:00 PM.
