#13 SBU wins 12th straight game as they finish 2-0 at High Desert Classic

Sheldon Pace was just two steals away from his first triple-double as he helped SBU to their 12th straight win.
LAS VEGAS, NV. … In their second game within two days, #13 Southwest Baptist proved their toughness with a 92-69 win over St. Mary’s in the High Desert Classic.  SBU shot 65% in the first half as they took a 44-29 lead at the half.

 

Frans Steyn recorded his fifth double-double of the year with 18 points and 10 rebounds as he shot 80% from the floor. He was one of five SBU players in double figures.  Colt Blair had 15, Deon Davis 14, Sheldon Pace 13, and Jason Jemison 11.  Pace was just two steals away from a triple-double as he also posted 12 assists with eight steals.  It was his second double-double of the year. 

 

SBU shot their hearts out in the first half with their 65% shooting.  They hit 15-23 shots from the floor.

 

Overall, SBU forced 22 turnovers and had 16 steals.  They were out rebounded, 33-32, though. 

 

The Bearcats will now be off through Christmas until December 31st when they travel to Emporia, Kansas, to play Emporia State at 3:30 p.m.
