GOODWELL, OK. ... In their final game of the OPSU Lady Aggie Classic, Southwest Baptist played their best game in two days with an 82-38 win over Western State.  SBU shot 56% from the floor in the win.

Freshman Kristina Salscheider had her best game in a SBU uniform as she recorded a career-high 14 points.  Freshman Amy Dodd added 12 and sophomore Trisha Lyons had 11.  Livia Brito led SBU with nine rebounds.

The Lady Bearcats dominated every category against Western State.  SBU held WSU to just 15% shooting from the floor and 10% from three-point range.  WSU only made nine shots from the floor in 60 shots taken.  SBU also outrebounded WSU, 46-31, and forced 19 turnovers.  By holding  WSU to only nine shots made the entire game, SBU broke their record for fewest field goals allowed in a game.  The old record was 12 against Rockhurst in the 2003-04 season.

Western State was a fiesty team in the first seven minutes of the game.  They had the lead, 6-5, at the 17:00 mark and then Brito hit a layup to give SBU the lead back.  WSU never had the lead again, but tied the game at 11 with 13:30 to go in the half.  It was at this point that SBU took over the game.  In the final 13 minutes of the game, SBU outscored WSU 30-8 for a 41-19 halftime lead.  In that time, WSU only hit one shot from the floor and that was a three-pointer just before the half.

The second half was not pretty for WSU as they only made four shots from the floor.  SBU had their largest lead of 44 with 00:13 left in the game when Salscheider hit a layup.  Salcheider scored 10 of her 14 points in the second half.

SBU will be off until December 10 when they open MIAA play against Truman State in the Meyer Sports Center at 1:30 p.m.
