Women's tennis ends season in MIAA tourney loss to UNO

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The SBU Bearcat women's tennis team fell to Nebraska-Omaha, 5-3, in the first round of the MIAA tournament on Saturday. SBU was the fifth seed and Nebraska-Omaha was number four. The loss ended the Bearcats' season at 8-9 overall.

After dropping the doubles matches, SBU rallied to win three of the first four singles matches including Jolee Cook, Johanna Olsson and Jenna Hendrickson at #1 through #3. Nebraska-Omaha won the match on second set tiebreaker at #6 singles.

The loss was the final collegiate match for SBU senior Trish Moceo. Moceo was a part of the 2008 MIAA Championship team, the first women's team in any sport in SBU history to win an MIAA championship.
