#21 Bearcat men's tennis falls to #33 Washburn

BOLIVAR, Mo. -- The #21 SBU men's tennis team had their seven-match winning streak snapped by #33 Washburn. The Ichabods edged the Bearcats 5-4 in dual match action Saturday at the Bryant Tennis Center.

SBU's Agustin Mollar and Tyler Welch scored a doubles victory at #3, but SBU still trailed 2-1 going into singles competition. The Bearcats got singles wins from #1 Marton Zsiga, #2 Emilio El Alabi and #4 Jorge Margiotta, but the 3-3 split in singles gave the Ichabods the match victory.

SBU drops to 11-7 overall and 3-2 in the MIAA while Washburn improves to 8-4 and 4-0 in the conference.

SBU takes on Drury in Springfield on Tuesday, April 14 beginning at 3:00 p.m.
