Bearcat men's tennis stops Truman 8-1

BOLIVAR, Mo. -- The SBU Bearcat men's tennis team defeated Truman 8-1 in dual match action Friday.

The #22-ranked Bearcat men were led by #1 Marton Zsiga and #2 Emilio El Alabi who scored singles wins and picked up an 8-4 doubles win over Kyle Schlotz and John Rothfusz. Emilio El Alabi returned from injury and was strong in both of his matches. Agustin Mollar and Tyler Welch also teamed to pick up a doubles win and singles victories on their own, while Jorge Palacios and Jorge Margiotta nabbed singles wins.

The SBU men's tennis team is now 4-6 overall and 2-1 in the MIAA while Truman falls to 3-1 and 0-1 MIAA. Both Bearcat teams (men's and women's) will travel to Texas, next week (Monday-Wednesday) for matches in Dallas. They'll take on Colin County CC on Monday, March 23 at 2:00 PM; Tuesday, March 24, SBU will battle Southeastern Oklahoma at 9:00 AM and Wednesday, March 25, the Bearcats will match up with St. Edwards at noon.
