SBU softball drops pair at ESU AAUW Softball Showcase

EMPORIA, Kan. -- The SBU softball Bearcats dropped a pair of games on
Friday afternoon at the Emporia State AAUW Softball Showcase. The
Bearcats fell to Tarleton State 4-0 in game one and 9-0 in five innings
to Nebraska-Omaha.
Dominant pitching from the opponents silenced
the Bearcat bats for the day. Tarleton's Lauren Zearfoss scattered four
hits, while walking two and striking out four. UNO's Meli Negrette
one-hit SBU in game two and struck out four and walked one.

Brison went 2-for-3 in game one against the TexAnns. Josie Rose threw
all six innings in the opener but was tagged for four runs and eight
hits. Nina Amaro Garcia got the only SBU hit in game two and also
pitched five innings in relief.
The Bearcats are now 8-11 on the
season and play Augustana College at 11:00 a.m., Southwestern Oklahoma
at 4:00 p.m., and the host Emporia State at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
