Men's tennis falls in opener to Ouachita Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — The #22 SBU men's tennis team fell in their 2009 opener
to #14 Ouachita Baptist, 8-1.
The lone win for the Bearcats came in #3 doubles, when the team of Agustin
Mollar and Tyler Welch defeated OBU's Szymon Juder and Vasek Stverka 8-5.
Coach John Bryant was pleased with the effort, despite the final score.
"The score doesn't show it, but we played well. Ouachita is perennially a top 10
team. I was encouraged by our play. It just takes time to get the guys
going."
The Bearcats are back in action tomorrow in Arkadelphia, with a morning
match against Tyler Community College and an afternoon match with Oklahoma
Christian.
