WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Truman's Isabel Gaeta scored in the 87th minute, and the Bulldogs held on for a 1-0 victory over SBU in the title game of the inaugural MIAA Postseason Women's Soccer Tournament Sunday.

Gaeta came off the bench and had three shots on goal, the last being on a scramble in front of the Lady Bearcats' goal that got past senior GK Aline Lopes.

SBU (9-8-3), which advanced to the championship game on penalty kicks after tying host Central Missouri Saturday (Nov. 3), had one last chance to tie the game on a corner kick with less than a minute remaining.

Lopes, playing up as an extra attacker, took a shot with 32 seconds left which went over the crossbar.

The Bulldogs out-shot the Lady Bearcats, 14-9, and had a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal.

Lopes made six saves for SBU -- five in the first half. Senior F Atefeh Heivary and senior B Christina Swartz each had two shots for the Lady Bearcats -- with freshman F Jaymye Ross and sophomore F Jackie Sabel getting the only shots on goal.
