STILLWATER, OK -- The SBU men and women cross country teams travelled to Stillwater, Oklahoma this past weekend to compete in the OSU Jamboree. The men ran in the University division, where powerhouse Arkansas claimed a surprising 3rd place behind NCAA Division II number one ranked Abilene Christian and Division I Oklahoma State University. The men placed 7th with 206 points. The women placed 6th place behind DI teams Missouri State, Tulsa, South Plains (Junior College) and the OSU (B) team. Also edging the bearcats was NAIA Mid America Nazarene. “I was extremely impressed on both sides this weekend. Truthfully I was not sure how we would do today. I have really been working them the last two weeks. They were tired and still ran very tough. This was a very competitive meet and we proved we could compete with some great teams.”

The SBU cross country teams travel to SIUE Border Wars held in Edwardsville, IL this weekend. “This is our last week of tough workouts so we may be a little tired again but I have confidence we will show up ready. I am excited to see the rest of the conference again. It will be interesting once conference and regional’s get here. Our conference and regional’s are very tough this year.” The South Central Region has three men’s teams ranked in the top 25 in the nation, while there are four on the women’s side ranked in the top 25. (SBU women 16th)
